We Sing a Land
We sing a land of bounty and of beauty, Beckoning roads, horizons yet unseen; Rich but fragile fields, magnolias and maples, Snow-marbled peaks with rivers cold between; O God of life, renew the earth and waters; Help us to keep our land forever green.
We sing a land where many came together Over the waves in hope of "breathing free;" Of the un-slaved who beat a path through darkness, Of all who wrought and bled for liberty; O God of love, restore the wronged and wounded; Help us sow friendship here from sea to sea.
We sing of lands afar, of other peoples Who also love the ground that gave them birth; All seek to tread the footprints of their heroes Dreaming a life of dignity and worth; O God of peace, help us to hear each other And work as one to make a fairer earth!
