Invitation of Lady Wisdom
You who wander storm-blown, Come, I am the nest: I am feathered shelter, Swaddling wings, warm breast; Close against my heartbeat Lie, and heal, and rest.
You who stumble blinded, Come, my hand gives sight! Touch a star; a rainbow; Stroke a wren in flight; Find in human faces Freshness and delight.
You who thirst and hunger, Come, royally dine; I bear laden platters, Pitchers splashing wine; Eat, and live forever; Drink, be one with the Vine.
